Yoel Izaguirre is a filmmaker and visual artist from Houston, Texas. His work explores themes of migration, memory, and identity, often drawing from his experiences a Chicano in the United States. Working across paper, moving image, and analog photography, Izaguirre is interested in how personal histories intersect with broader social and cultural narratives. His projects frequently center intimate storytelling, using interviews, archives, and observational imagery to reflect on the emotional landscapes of migration and belonging. Izaguirre is currently based in Northfield, Minnesota, where he studies cinema and media production.
